About Alejandro Sarmiento – Eugene Artist & Instructor
From Murals to Paint & Sip—A Journey of Art and Expression
Alejandro Sarmiento is a visual artist based in Eugene, Oregon, known for his bold acrylic paintings and large-scale murals. With over a decade of experience, his work spans public art, private commissions, and original pieces fueled by imagination and emotion.
As the founder of Art With Alejandro, he leads Paint & Sip classes and workshops for all ages and skill levels. His studio in Eugene’s 5th Street Market Alley also serves as a gallery—featuring both his art and a rotating collection from local artists.
Largely self-taught, Alejandro has been drawing since childhood and continues to refine his craft through daily practice. Though he studied briefly at Lane Community College, his growth as an artist has come from lifelong commitment to creativity.
He is red-green colorblind, a trait that has shaped his use of contrast, value, and intuitive color choices—adding depth and vibrancy to his work.
Outside the studio, Alejandro is also a lifelong martial artist, bringing rhythm, discipline, and flow into everything he creates.
